Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 4, 2026

Overview

BagClx produces a luggage damage documentation report you can submit to your airline. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with to deliver the service, and your choices. BagClx does not sell your personal information.

There are no user accounts and no login. Each report request is handled on its own and is tied to your browser only by a single signed cookie described below.

Information we collect

We collect only what you provide to prepare your report:

  • Your full name
  • Flight number
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Bag brand
  • Damage type, and your free text description if you choose Other
  • The estimated replacement cost you are claiming
  • Your description of what happened and what is wrong
  • The airline you select, if any
  • The photos you upload of your bag and the damage

Before any photo is stored, we strip its embedded metadata, including GPS location data and other EXIF fields, so location information from your photos is not retained.

We do not ask for and do not want government identifiers, full payment card numbers, or any other sensitive data beyond what is listed above.

How we use your information

We use your information for one purpose: to produce and deliver the luggage damage documentation report you pay for. That includes drafting the report text, generating the PDF report, emailing it to you, and making it available to download. We also use your email to send you a fresh download link if you request one.

Payment

Payment is handled by Stripe through its hosted checkout. BagClx does not see or store your card number. We retain only a payment reference and status so we know your report has been paid for.

Service providers we share data with

We share your data only with the providers needed to deliver the service, and only for that purpose:

  • Stripe processes your payment.
  • SendGrid delivers your report by email.

BagClx does not use any artificial intelligence service to review your photos or write your report, so your photos and details are not sent to any AI provider. A BagClxreviewer prepares each report from a preset for your damage type and the information you provide.

We do not share your data with advertisers and we do not sell it. Each provider acts on our behalf to deliver the report.

Where your data lives and how long we keep it

Your submission details are stored in our database, and your photos and PDF report are stored on our own server, not a third-party object store. After about 90 days, our automated cleanup removes your uploaded photos and your PDF report from storage and removes the personal fields from your submission (your name, phone, email, flight number, and your description).

If you start a report but never pay, we hold the details and photos you entered for a shorter period, about 14 days, and then delete that abandoned submission entirely.

We keep a limited non-personal record after that, the payment and report metadata such as amounts, dates, the report number, and payment references, for up to about 7 years. We keep this for accounting and to defend against payment disputes, as allowed or required by law, and then it is deleted.

We keep an internal log of the transactional emails we send you (the type of email, the recipient address, the related report number, and whether it was sent), and an internal audit record of staff lookups of customer records. The recipient address and lookup details in these logs are removed after about 90 days, the same window as your other personal data.

The download link in your report email is signed and expires after 30 days. After it expires you can request a fresh link, which is sent only to the email on file for your report.

Reviews you choose to leave

After your report is delivered, we may invite you to leave an optional review. If you do, we store your rating, your review text, and the name format you select. We publish a review publicly only if you check the consent box, and only after a member of our team checks it for spam and abuse. We never publish a review you did not consent to, and we never write or invent reviews.

The public name shown with your review is derived from the name on your report according to the format you choose: your full name, your first name with your last initial, or Anonymous. You can remove your review at any time using the link in your report email or from the review page on the device you submitted it from. After about 90 days, the same window as your other personal data, we redact the reviewer name on published reviews so they appear as Anonymous.

Cookies

We use a single cookie: a signed, httpOnly cookie that keeps your in progress claim attached to your browser so a refresh does not lose your work. It is not used for advertising or cross site tracking. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

No accounts

BagClx has no user accounts and no login. We do not build a profile of you across visits.

Your rights

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Because we have no accounts, we may ask you to verify the email address used for your report before we act on a request.

California residents (CCPA and CPRA)

BagClx operates from California. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access it, to request deletion, and to correct inaccurate information. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. The categories we collect and the purposes for collection are described above. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

International travelers

BagClx is operated from the United States and your information is processed in the United States. If you are using BagClx from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your home country. This section is flagged for legal review for travelers in other regions.

Children

BagClx is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. The current effective date is June 4, 2026.
